Review of Snoop’s first album in The Source, which was treated with a so-so rating (compared to the 4.5 mics of Enter The Wu-Tang in the same issue), thus giving us another proof of their legendary east-coast biais. February 1994.

    Disgusting how this didn’t even get 4.5 mics… The only thing I hated about The Source was its bias against the West… but I still read it as a bible from 92-02

    I gotta disagree that this is a 5-mic album. I feel that this album aspired to be another “Chronic” but had too much filler. Personally, I found that the singles were mostly weak, and “Tha Shiznit” and “What’s My Name?” were the best tracks on the album. I also don’t think it’s held up, with the dated G-funk sound. But that’s just me.
